The moment that many who found themselves engrossed in the January transfer window have been anticipating for some time.
Mykhailo Mudryk will finally play at Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium after a significant pursuit from the Gunners that ended with Chelsea hijacking the deal.
Arsenal reacted to the blow by pivoting to sign Brighton forward Leandro Trossard.
The Gunners moved swiftly and secured a £27million move for the Belgian who has shone since and been an impactful part of the title race.
Meanwhile, Mudryk has not transitioned to the Premier League as successfully. He has not started in five of the last six games for Chelsea with no guarantees that he’ll be in Frank Lampard’s starting eleven Tuesday night.
Similarly, Trossard has not started the past four Arsenal games in which the Gunners have failed to pick up a single win.
Prior to this, he started the seven successively in which Mikel Arteta’s side won every single possible point available.
This has of course then caused reason for many to suggest Trossard should come back in for the visit of Chelsea on Tuesday.
For good reason too however perhaps not in any of the positions he occupied during the seven-game run
Trossard came on for Arsenal against Southampton at 3-1 down in the place of Fabio Vieira to join the front five.
Although Granit Xhaka might be fully fit, having the Belgian in the side with the usual front four could cause all manner of problems for the Blues
Mudryk though might again need to make do with an appearance from the bench. Arsenal supporters turned quickly on the Ukrainian winger and then swiftly forgot his existence thanks to Trossard’s performances,
but the former Shakhtar Donetsk man is sure to have the motivation to show the Gunners exactly who they missed out on next week.
