Celta Vigo midfielder appears to fancy a move to Arsenal for a number of reasons despite interest from other clubs.
GABRI VEIGA WANTS TO JOIN ARSENAL THIS SUMMER
Faro de Vigo report that Serie A leaders Napoli are prepared to make their move for Veiga this summer.
However, it’s claimed that Arsenal remain the preferred option for Veiga and his representatives.
There are a couple of reasons for this stance, primarily because Arsenal place a focus on young players.
William Saliba, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli have all become stars under Mikel Arteta.
Veiga and his team seemingly believe that Arteta’s ability to develop youngsters will work perfectly for the Celta star
It’s added that the chance to live in London is also appealing to Veiga and his representatives.
Manchester City and Newcastle United are also keen, but London is more appealing to Veiga than heading up north.
VEIGA COULD BE A HUGE CAPTURE FOR ARSENAL
This comes after AS reporter Manu Sainz suggested earlier in March that Veiga’s top choice is Arsenal.
A host of clubs both in Spain and around Europe are interested in Veiga but it increasingly sounds like Arsenal are the favourites.
Veiga, 20, has burst onto the scene this season
Veiga has bagged nine goals and three assists in just 25 league games for Celta this season.
A product of the Celta youth ranks, Veiga hails from Galicia and has become something of a homegrown hero.
Sadly, as clubs the size of Celta often find, the big boys start chasing your top talents when they break through.
Veiga looks destined for a big summer move and has a €40million (£35million) release clause in his contract.
Veiga can provide a real goal threat from midfield and has the potential to become an absolute superstar
